"Ea Este Singur"

which translates into "She Is Alone" in Romanian. I think. ha.

This was my second piece done in the fall semester. It was a loooong break between this piece and "The Maiden and the Sea". I got some work done between them; a self portrait, a still life, and a loooot of doodles.

For this piece, I ended up doing a lot of character/value/color studies for. I had several different colored versions of the character, before going with this final one. The sea in the background is based off this really lovely photo. I really loved the colors.
More doodles!  A lot all of them are Les Mis related.
Colm Wilkinson (the original Jean Valjean) is playing the role of the Bishop in the movie!

Murrius Ponderpcy

A Cosette doodle that I used to experiment with a lineless style. I had fun with it, and I liked the result.

Some book!canon Javert.
"You could not see his forehead which disappeared under his hat, you could not see his eyes which were lost under his brows, you could not see his chin which was buried in his cravat, you could not see his hands which were drawn up into his sleeves, you could not see his cane which he carried under his coat."

Like most artists, I find myself doing a lot of self portraits. Here are some.

"The Maiden and the Sea"
First piece I finished for the fall semester.
Inspired by artists Alphonse Mucha and Kay Nielson.
Oddly enough; even though his is one of my oldest pieces in my portfolio, it always tends to be most people's favorite.
OKAY. I have this blog set up (for the most part), so now it's time to POST THINGS.

I'll probably start going through some of the work I've done this past year, and throw in some doodles and sketches every now and again. Maybe some WIPS and progress stuff if I can find it.

Hullo! I decided to start a semi-professional art blog

Hopefully I'll post sketches, process, general updates, finished pieces, etc on here.
